Toblerone Hot Cocoa Bombs Recipe

Thank you for sharing!

This Swiss classic Toblerone has been around for decades and became a favorite by a lot of people from around the world. Incorporating this with hot cocoa to become Toblerone Hot Cocoa Bombs is something really cool!

Hot cocoa bombs are so popular not only for having a great way to make your delicious warm chocolate drink but also for their versatility.  The possibility of creating different flavors is endless. And adding your favorite chocolate bars into your hot cocoa bombs is one of the best ideas.

Just like these Toblerone Hot Cocoa Bombs. Who doesn’t know Toblerone? Toblerone was already around when your grandmother was still young. I got my start of love and constant request for those triangular boxes when I was very young. I like to bite them one triangle at a time.

Toblerone was created in 1908 in Bern, Switzerland by the cousins Emil Baumann and Theodore Tobler. It consists of milk chocolate with nougat, almonds, and honey. The triangular shape and packaging are Theodor Tobler’s idea. And the product name came from blending Tobler’s name with the Italian word torrone, which is a type of nougat.

Making the Toblerone Hot Cocoa Bombs

Toblerone Hot Cocoa Bombs will surely be a hit. They can be a nice addition to the Hot Cocoa charcuterie board, too.

Toblerone Hot cocoa Bombs

You will be surprised, making these hot cocoa bombs are so easy. There are only 4 ingredients.

Chocolate Candy Melts – I used the Wilton. You can easily find them in a grocery store or online.

Hot Chocolate Mix – there are many brands out there. Get your favorite ones. They are available in packets, cans, jars, or boxes.

Mini Marshmallows – The white or multi-colors will do great.

Toblerone Bar –  Very important, of course. Without it, it will not be Toblerone Hot Cocoa bombs.. (Sure!). You will only need 1 bar. But this is just friendly advice… Make it 2 bars. Because it will be very hard for you to make the hot cocoa bombs without eating at least one of the triangles. LOL!

Ingredients

You will also need bath bomb molds or cake pop molds and, if using bath bomb molds, I found it best to hold them steady in a cupcake tin.

Instructions

Place chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melts in the microwave per the directions on the package.

Place 1 tbsp melted candy melt into one half of a bomb mold and, using the bottom of your tablespoon or measuring spoon, press the chocolate up the sides of the mold, keeping it thick but even. Repeat with 12 bomb mold halves.

how to

Place the chocolate-filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.

Remove molds from the freezer then gently tap the sides of the mold, pressing on one side of the chocolate to make the chocolate slide out of the mold.

Fill 6 of the molds with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix, 1 triangle of Toblerone, candy, and 6-8 mini marshmallows.

Heat a plate or a flat-bottom bowl in the microwave until the surface of the plate is warm to the touch. Then press one of the empty chocolate bomb halves open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for about 10 seconds. This will gently melt the rim of the chocolate cup. Immediately press this warmed edge chocolate cup to the top of one of the filled cups. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb. Alternatively, you can pipe a little chocolate on the rim’s edge.

Using a piping bag or a fork, place a tsp of the remaining chocolate candy melts on top of the assembled hot cocoa bombs then immediately follow by placing an additional triangle piece of Toblerone candy bar on this chocolate dab.

Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to get them to set, then remove and store in an airtight container until you’re ready to use.

Note:

To use the hot cocoa bombs: place them in a mug and pour 2 cups of hot milk over the top. Stir until the hot cocoa bombs are completely melted and enjoy!

To store: Place in a clean container with lid then refrigerate for up to a month.
