At this point, a week out from Halloween, I’m so sick of all that candy hanging around, I’m tempted to just toss it. But every time that thought crosses my mind, it’s like my son has some kind of alarm going off in his head and he says something like “this is the best mom, thanks for letting me have it.” I can’t take it away from him when he’s so happy. That would just suck to be me. So, I’m trying to come up with yummy ways to get that candy GONE. I just want it away, not here and out. This recipe for Halloween Candy Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa is perfect for that. Kills about 1/3 of the candy he brought home that night and he asks for more! Whoop!
There’s something so fun about a 2-ingredient recipe. I love the idea of not really having to do anything but toss off candy in a crock pot and having yummy drink come out. I wish all recipes were this easy. I would recommend that, if you choose to use candies that have nuts in them, you should strain this drink a little before the kiddos get ahold of a cup. No way would I want my kid choking on an almond or something. To do this, you can just pour your spoonful of hot cocoa into a colander over your cup and you should be good. Again, let me stress, this is probably crucial if you use any chocolate with nuts or other ad-ins. No choking. That would be bad.
