There must be at least a million recipes out there for a cheese ball, but this is Mamma’s Ultimate Cheese Ball. This is the Cheese Ball that no one can get enough of. When we make Mamma’s Ultimate Cheese Ball at Thanksgiving, we actually have to make a double batch, just to make sure we don’t run out. And so what if I make it look like a turkey?! That’s my cheese ball, I’ll do what I want. LOL!
Ingredients for Mamma’s Ultimate Cheese Ball
- 2 – 8 oz. packages Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 – 8 oz. can crushed Pineapple, drained
- 2 cups chopped Pecans
- 1/4 t Lowry’s Seasoned Salt
- 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
- 2 T finely chopped Onion
Let’s Assemble Mamma’s Ultimate Cheese Ball
- Cream the cream cheese until it is smooth.
- Add 1 cup pecans and other ingredients.
- Shape into a ball and roll it in the remaining pecans.
- Refrigerate. (Overnight refrigeration adds flavor.)
- Enjoy!
How to Make Your Cheese Ball Look Like a Turkey
Ingredients:
- 1 black olive
- 1 almond
- 12-16 (or more) pretzel sticks
- 1 slice of sweet potato or carrot or orange bell pepper
- 1 teeny slice of red bell pepper
- 1 cake pop stick
How to:
- Go ahead and make the cheese ball per the directions above (and make a double batch, trust me), only hold-back about a quarter of it and shape it into a second ball without the pecans.
- Cut the sweet potato/carrot/orange bell pepper into 2 pieces and then trim it into toes per the picture above.
- Place the feet on your serving plate, then place the large cheese ball on top of them, sort of letting them poke out.
- Push the cake pop stick into the larger cheese ball, leaving about 2-inches sticking up.
- Place the small cheese ball on the cake pop stick, creating the turkey head.
- Stick the pretzel sticks on the opposite side of the head and kind of sticking up.
- Cut the olive into quarters, then put tow of the quarters on the turkey’s face, gently pushing them in a little so they stay.
- Gently push the almond, round end first, into the turkey’s face, below the eyes. Make sure the point sticks out like a beak.
- Cut the red bell pepper into a long triangle shape and tuck it into the turkey’s chin, gently pushing it into the cheese ball so its stays.
- Commence with the eating.
