Just the mention of Strawberry Shortcake is absolutely mouth-watering. The sweetness of strawberries on a delicious soft cake is a straight delight to anyone’s tastebuds.
And you know what? I’m not exaggerating. This recipe is a hit, especially with the kids.
But I’ll be honest, I was a little concerned about the potential for a mom’s most dreaded concern: Mess.
Look, my kids are not the neatest and if I let them serve themselves, that’s just a recipe for disaster.
So, I tried something new. It’s the same pound cake I would otherwise make, strawberries and whipped cream like before, but I can control the mess. Cute, efficient and, frankly, simple. I love it.
Similar to this layered Strawberry Trifle, I decided to make the Strawberry Shortcake layered in cups. Perfect for serving if there are kids around who love the cake but can’t stay in one place to eat it. But then, they’re great for anyone., because the idea is they look really nice when arranged and served that way.
