Soaking in a warm bath with Mermaid Shell Bath Bombs is awesome. The color, shapes and scent makes me feel like I am by the beach, under the shade of a coconut tree and enjoying the summer.
I was watching some movie while I was sitting cozy and drinking my favorite hot cocoa bomb when I noticed something. Well, it’s a scene on a beach at an island and someone picked up some seashells, they zoomed in and suddenly I got an idea.
I knew I still have my silicone seashell mold somewhere among my other molds… (I’m glad I found it!). For the ingredients needed, since I’m fond of making bath bombs, I still have enough supplies including the mica powder. I already have the mica powder, because whenever I buy something as such, I would add a few more colors, thinking I will be using them one day.
Hmmm… you should also make this Mermaid Sugar Scrub. They belong together, you know!
Oh! When I made these bath bombs, my kids loved them immediately. (They love all my bath bombs! LOL!) They enjoyed taking their bath and pretended to be a mermaids.
Having these Mermaid Shell Bath Bombs is fun. They’re great for everyone. I’m thinking of making more next time. We will be visiting a relative during the summer and I’ll be bringing a few of these bath bombs.
Let’s Make the Mermaid Shell Bath Bombs.
Gather your supplies first. For those who are not sure where to find the others. I put the links where I found them. These are just to help you out to make things easier for you.
The Supplies
Paid links:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Epsom salts
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp essential oil blend desired (or coconut flavoring oil, since that’s what I wanted)
- 2 tsp rubbing alcohol
- 1 tsp Okinawa blue mica powder
- 1 tsp gold nugget mica powder
- 2-4 tablespoons mermaid sprinkles blend
The Tools
- Seashell Mold
I used a different one but it’s not available anymore from where I got them. I found these Seashell molds instead. They’re not exactly the same but the “seashells” look similar though.
This one is a set of 2.
- 6- 10 Bath Bomb Molds
NOTE: You can use both Seashell Mold and Bath Bomb Mold or any of the two.
The Instructions
To begin with, whisk together the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, and Epsom salts.
Then, in a second bowl, combine the melted coconut oil, essential oil blend and alcohol together, mixing well.
Add liquid ingredients 1 tsp at a time to the dry ingredients, mixing them together slowly so as not to start the fizzy reaction.
To the bath bomb mixture, add in the blue mica powder and then mix well.
If you want more color, add some additional mica powder in 1 tsp increments.
Dust the bottom of the bath bomb molds with the gold mica powder.
Immediately pack the bath bomb mold overly full of the blue mixture. Then pack it down tightly and remove excess from the back.
Press about 1 tsp of sprinkle mixture into the back of each bath bomb.
Then allow the bath bombs to rest in the mold for up to 24 hours before gently tapping the side of the mold to release the bombs.
Use your bath bombs immediately or store in an airtight container until you’re ready to use!
There you have it. Did you enjoy making the Mermaid Shell Bath Bombs?
