Instant Pot time! Today I’m going to show you how to make this delicious and easy recipe cooked in just a few minutes Instant Pot Shrimp Boil. Yummy!
Actually, I learned this from a friend when I visited her some weeks ago. It was late in the afternoon and she asked me to stay for dinner. And that’s when she told me that we’re cookin’ Instant Pot Shrimp Boil.
I got excited because I like shrimp very much and my friend knew it, and of course that’s why she asked me to stay until dinner. Preparing it is so easy. Though I helped her a bit but even prepping it alone would only take a few minutes.
And you know what, it only took 8 minutes to cook the Instant Pot Shrimp Boil. That was fast!. And we enjoyed our dinner that evening. Well, at least we didn’t spend much time in the kitchen.
You may add garnishing’s to it when done, such as chopped parsley.
If you are new with the Instant Pot.,. here’s something that you can read when using Instant Pot. It’s When to Use Natural Release and Quick Release. For our recipe today, we will be doing a manual setting quick release.
Cooking Instant Pot Shrimp Boil
I prefer larger shrimp here and shelled. but I knew some people like it with shells on. So it is your preference.
For the corn, I recommend sweet corn to use here. They’re so tasty.
There are several kinds of potatoes For this recipe, I suggest russet or baby dutch potatoes. They do great when pressured.
You may add more or use lesser for the sausage too.
Let’s start with the ingredients below.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon oil of choice
- 2 cups shrimp
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 6 medium potatoes, diced
- 4 cobs corn, split in three
- 6 sausage links, chopped
- 2 cups water or beer
- 3 Tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
Directions:
Place oil in instant pot (IP) and set it to a saute setting.
Once oil is hot, add the onion and cook for two minutes.
Stir in the garlic and cook for one minute before turning off the IP.
Add the sausages, followed by the potatoes and corn.
Add the Old Bay seasoning and the water.
Secure lid and select manual setting for 8 minutes. Quick-release.
And finally, add shrimp and cook for an additional minute on the manual setting. Quick-release
