Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs

I fell in love! Yes, I fell in love with hot cocoa bombs ever since I learned how to make them. I always like to drink warm milk chocolates, especially when it’s cold. However, hot cocoa bombs are way more enjoyable. It’s exciting to see the cocoa bombs melting in the hot milk. My kids love them, as well.

I found these M&M’S Milk Chocolate Cupid’s Mix. Well, actually, my kids saw them first and then you know what happened next, I bought several bags, because I had something in mind along with the hot cocoa bombs. And they’re going to be a hit, especially with my kids.

Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs

Yep! These heart hot cocoa bombs are so adorable. Great for Valentine’s day, too. Whether it’s the heart day or another special day, they are perfect!

Making the Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs

We are going to start with gathering the ingredients. But we will also need the tools like that cute heart mold and a small piping bag. A Ziplock bag can be used as a piping bag. Just cut a small hole in one corner. A couple of microwavable bowls, to melt the candy.

The ingredients are:

  • 2 cups Chocolate Candy Melts
  • 1 cup Pink Candy Melts
  • 2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 1 cup M&M’S Milk Chocolate Cupid’s Mix
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows

This is an update. The swirl heart mold that I used is not available from where I got it and I couldn’t find the mold with the same feature or size anywhere. So I am suggesting these molds that you can use.

Continue with the instructions below on using these molds.

Instructions

1. Place pink candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melts in the microwave per the directions on the package. Place in a piping bag.

Ingredients

2. On the heart mold, there is a small swirl. Carefully pipe out and fill the swirl with the pink candy melt.  Repeat with the rest of the molds. Place the molds in the freezer for 5 minutes.

3. Put chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them in the microwave at 30 second intervals, stir and microwave again for another 30 seconds.

Instructions

4. Place 1 tbsp melted chocolate candy melts into one half of a mold. Using the bottom of the tablespoon or measuring spoon, press the chocolate up the sides of the mold, covering the pink swirl, and keeping it thick but even. Repeat with the 2 of the bomb mold halves.

5. For the rest of the 3 molds, place melted chocolate candy melts at the bottom part only. Cover the pink swirls and keep them thick but smooth and even.

6. Place the chocolate-filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.

7. Remove molds from the freezer and gently tap the sides of the mold, pressing on one side of the chocolate to make the chocolate slide out of the mold.

Updates:

If you are going to use the heart molds that I suggested above, here are what you can do to create your heart hot cocoa bombs.

If you have the Heart Silicone Mold (paid link):

  • Create a marble effect by swirling the pink candy melts into the molds, then followed by the chocolate candy melts.
  • Alternatively, place chocolate candy melts only into the mold. Once the heart hot cocoa bombs are already covered, pipe out the pink candy melts by swirling it on top or create a heart-shaped on top of the coca bombs. Attach 1 M&M on top.

Or you are using the Heart-Shaped Silicone Mold (paid link):

  • Do the same as with the diamond heart silicone molds.

Finally, if you decide to use the Framed Heart Silicone Mold:

  • This mold is so cool. Pipe out the pink candy melts on the bottom frame (not the center). Then cover the bottom with chocolate candy melts. Do the side of the heart hot cocoa bombs.
