Well, you see, it’s like this: I’m not sitting at the cool-kid’s table. Don’t think I ever have. Not even sure if I would know it if I was. So, I’m a nerd. Straight-up, unabashed. And now I’m a mom. But not just any mom. Nope. I’m a mom twice-over. I’ve got a 12-year old boy we adopted some years ago and a 1-year old girl. Both of which shall remain somewhat nameless to help them avoid the later-life-shattering-embarrassment of being “that kid” on their mom’s famous blog. Right…(you hear the raging sarcasm?) So, they’ll be Little Ms. and Mr. Boy. Surely they’ll understand.
Anyway. Back to the cool-kid’s table. So, I’m a nerd. I like to read Popular Science magazine (which as part of my nerdy-mcnerdiness I am frugal and borrow from my in-laws when they’re done with it), I have a subscription to Handyman magazine (I got that as a gift for the hubby and it is apparently never-ending), I am all about the trendy next-techie thing-a-mabob that I can buy (which I’ll promptly get bored with), and I’m more than tickled to let my nerdy hang-out by wearing totally age-inappropriate t-shirts that refer back to my fave tv shows and movies (or restaurants like Freebirds, where you can get the bestest burrito EVER–and they didn’t even have to pay me to get me to say that!).
On to business. I have a lot to say. And I’m unabashedly going to share it with you. Often. I’d love to hear back from you, if only to hear you laugh. Because, really, being nerdy is only fun if I can do it with others.
