“I am losing my freaking mind! The house is a mess, the kids are a disaster, and I can’t seem to get one thing accomplished.” –someone with anxiety

“I am afraid and don’t know why. My stomach feels like it is in my throat, and I can’t seem to stop the beating of my heart.” –someone with anxiety

Anxiety is a daily battle that can make life seem almost debilitating to the point you really feel you are losing your mind. If you have anxiety, you know how hard it can be.

Fighting anxiety

Here’s how to fight anxiety without losing your mind in the process!

Learn Your Triggers

One of the easiest ways to fight anxiety is to avoid it in the first place. In order to avoid anxiety, you have to figure out your triggers. What is triggering your anxiety?

  • Is it work?
  • Is it the kids?
  • Is it family?
  • Is it school?
  • Is it driving?
  • Could it be a sound?

Write a journal each time you have anxiety. This will help you to look back and find a pattern. Once you identify what triggers your anxiety, you can take steps to avoid it.

Take Time for Yourself

It is important to have time to do things that make you happy. Go out with girlfriends, get a massage, meditate, color, take a bath, or if you’re a mom, go to the bathroom on your own.

Taking time for yourself is a great way to gather yourself, recoup your energy, and delve back into life.

Get More Sleep

If you aren’t getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night, you are contributing to your anxiety. Anxiety can be stronger and harder without adequate sleep. In fact, with stress, your body needs more rest.

Seriously, getting a better night’s sleep helped me be a better mom. Try to hit the sack earlier or sleep in later.

Exercise on a Daily Basis

I know what you are thinking. You don’t even have enough time to get basic chores done; how are you supposed to fit in exercise?

I get it, but even 10-minutes a day can greatly reduce anxiety and help you feel better all around. So, run up those stairs a few times, or jog around the block.

Spend Time Coloring

Adult coloring has become the new fad, but there is a science behind it. Coloring is actually a great way to decrease anxiety, stress, and clear your mind.

Of course, coloring is a great pastime for anyone even those without anxiety. Here’s why every adult should start coloring!

Eat the Right Food

There are foods that will be able to reduce anxiety because of certain nutrients they have. These fermented foods, seafood, dark green leafy, some herbs and spices like chamomile, green tea, ginger, turmeric. Even eggs, dark chocolate, and fruits with lower carbohydrates like avocados and berries.

Another noteworthy product is lion’s mane mushroom powder. Known for its brain-boosting and anxiety-reducing effects, incorporating lion’s mane mushroom powder in your daily diet could significantly aid in managing anxiety symptoms.

Including these in the daily diet will improve the mood that helps fighting anxiety.
