Easy DIY Unicorn Mason Jar Cricut Craft

Unicorns are one of my favorites. I don’t know why but I am always attracted to them. I guess that’s why they are said to be magical. As you can see, I always have Unicorn themed foods, crafts, and DIYs.

Mason Jars are one of my favorite projects as well. Then again, they have many uses, mostly as containers for something. And having these mason jars with designs will definitely put them on the next level.

Putting these two together and with the use of the Cricut machine is going to be amazing! Thus, this Unicorn Mason Jar Cricut Craft is really amazing.

I had done this craft for the first time before for my niece’s Unicorn themed birthday party as part of my gift to her. Along with a set of colored pencils and a Unicorn coloring book.

This Unicorn Mason Jar is perfect to place pens and pencils in it. Then put them all together in a Unicorn Favor Bag that I also did myself. They are a perfect combination! And she loved them so much!

Making the Unicorn Mason Jar Cricut Craft

Your Cricut will definitely make everything easier. Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker will do. Then again, I’m sure there are skilled people out there who can just cut out the figures with the help of the patterns.

Moreover, you need to download an SVG file of Unicorn if you don’t have them in your file yet. They are, in fact, found easily online nowadays. Some are free to download, too.

Type in the search bar: ‘Free SVG Unicorn for Cricut’. You’ll find a lot of websites that allow you to download the SVG file for the needed pattern.

Some can be purchased for only a few dollars, while some are free to download. So, just choose your preffered pattern.

The Instructions

1. To begin with, clean each of your mason jars, making sure there is no leftover label on them. And then dry the mason jars very well.

2. Then, paint one jar pink, one jar blue, and one jar purple. Allow the paint to dry completely, because you might find spots that you need to go over again.

3. Download the SVG and upload it to Cricut Design Space and cut out the following:

  • 3 Horns and Horn “Swirl” Sets from Yellow/Gold Craft Felt
  • 3 Small Inner Ear Shapes from Pale Pink Craft Felt
  • 1 Large Outer Ear Shape from Blue Craft Felt
  • 1 Large Outer Ear Shape from Pink Craft Felt
  • 1Large Outer Ear Shape from Purple Craft Felt
  • 6 Closed Eye Shapes from Black Craft Felt

4. Hot glue the horn “swirl” pieces onto the horn shapes in descending size (smallest on top, largest on bottom). Then affix one of the fully assembled horns to each of the mason jars.

5. Glue one inner ear shape to each of the outer ear shapes. And then affix two fully assembled ears to each of the mason jars, on either side of the horn, about 1 inch from the horn.

6. Also hot glue two eye shapes to each jar, about halfway down the jar, separated by about 1 ½ inch.

7. Finally, if possible, create a separate bow and glue it on. If not, you can tie a coordinating color ribbon with a big bow around the top of each mason jar to finish off the look and enjoy!
