Ingredients
- Spice Cake Mix
- + Ingredients Called for on the box
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Marshmallow Filling:
- 2 cups marshmallow cream
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup powdered icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 °F.
2. Grease a twinkie pan and set aside.
3. Prepare the spice cake mix according to the package directions.
4. Fill the twinkie pan with batter, filling each about 2/3 of the way full.
5. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let cool completely.
7. Meanwhile, prepare the filling by beating together all marshmallow filling ingredients. If it's too stiff, add a teaspoon or two of hot water.
8. Scoop the filling into a piping bag and snip a tiny amount off the end.
9. Using a chopstick or a barbecue stick, make three holes in the bottom of each twinkie. 10. Try to move the end of the chopstick around a bit to make a bigger cavity for the filling.
11. Pipe the marshmallow filling into each of the three holes of each twinkie.
