Let’s be painfully clear here. My kids have sucked-up all my “me” time for like the past two years. I had a great little at-home spa day for the first time in those two years just a week or so ago. And it started a little fire in me. Now I feel like I could use a little spot-check of “me” time on the regular. Maybe. Those kids are still there. Looking at me. Creepy little stalkers. But maybe if I take my Cookie Dough Sugar Scrub into the bathroom and close the door…nope, there’s those little fingers under the door, wiggling at me with a hollered, “It’s me!” Stalkers.
Ok, so while I was hiding in the bathroom with my stalkers on the other side of the door, I really, really enjoyed this Cookie Dough Sugar Scrub. It was–how do you say in French? Ah, yes: Le Awesome. (Sorry, French readers, I just needed a joke here. My bad for picking on you. Hope you don’t mind.). Scrubbed my skin silky smooth (as any sugar scrub does) AND it totally made me smell like I just rolled-around in a batch of cookie dough. Kind of awesome, frankly. Like that scene in Young Frankenstein where the assistant Helga is in the cart with the good Doctor and says “roll-roll, roll in the hay”. Yeah, I smelled like I did that in a cart full of chocolate chip cookies. And all I can say is: Frau–BLUCHER! (yes, those are horses neighing wildly in the background). If you have not seen this movie, I’m so sorry for you, you are missing out on a classic. Go rent it today. Now. NOW! And you can eat some cookie dough popcorn or cookie dough muddy buddies while you watch, after you’ve scrubbed your legs, feet and elbows, of course. Don’t worry, Igor approves.
Ingredients Cookie Dough Sugar Scrub
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tspn vanilla extract
- 1 tspn salt
- 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
- 5-10 drops brown food coloring, optional
How to Make the Easy Cookie Dough Sugar Scrub
- Dump all the ingredients together and mix thoroughly. If too dry add an additional tablespoon of melted coconut oil. If too wet, OH WELL! Heh.
- If so desired, you can pull out a tablespoon of the scrub and put brown food coloring on it to make “chocolate chips” by dropping a 1/4 teaspoon of this darker scrub in amidst the lighter scrub.
Feel free to tease me about my bad jokes and odd sense of humor in the comments. I love hearing from you guys and would just be tickled if, should you like this recipe for cookie-dough-exploded-on-my-calves, you’d pin it and share with your friends. Love you all! And enjoy the cookie dough sugar scrub…
