Having these Easter Bunny Hot Cocoa Bombs is an enjoyable way to warm up while celebrating Easter. Well, the bunny is so cute, and the hot cocoa bomb is so delicious.

Easter Bunny Hot Cocoa Bombs

Easter is fast approaching and I’m one of those who are already planning for the holiday. Thinking about what preparations I can make for the kids to enjoy the celebration. You know us mammas enjoy it already when we see our kids having fun on what we prepare for them.

My kids already love hot chocolate drinks. When I started making hot cocoa bombs, they loved it more. Because they are so versatile that they can be made with different looks or design them yourselves for fun. Just like when I made the Harry Potter Hot Cocoa Bombs so that we can have a good drink while we were watching the Ol’ movie.

With a cute bunny on an egg-shaped hot cocoa bomb, these Easter bunny hot cocoa bombs are so perfect for the holiday. Include them in the Easter baskets or as Easter treats is a great idea, too. And after a whole day of fun, to sit and take a break while drinking this warm and tasty cocoa is so relaxing.

How to Make the Easter Bunny Hot Cocoa Bombs

To make the ‘egg’ I prefer to use the candy melts as this is very easy to manage and it can give you a good solid shell. I mean, chocolate bars are great too, but they tend to soften easier than the candy melts. For these Easter bunny hot cocoa bombs, I found these candy melts (paid link), and I think they are great to use. I like the vanilla flavor, too.

There are a lot of brands for the chocolate powder mix. You can use whatever your favorite is. The mix should melt easily once it gets into the hot milk. If you like it more chocolatey, then add a little more than what I instructed below.

Marshmallows always make chocolate drink more flavorful. I love the aroma it makes when mixed with the chocolate. If you prefer to use the mini marshmallows. You can use around 7 or 8 pieces in each hot cocoa bombs. They fit nicely.

And for the Mini Easter Bunnies to be attached to the easter egg, I found them in a confectionery or baking supplies store before. Those were some caramel sugar icing or royal icing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it anymore. I have a few suggestions below.

And to make the ‘egg’, I used this silicone egg-shaped mold (paid link). The size is just enough.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Vanilla Flavored Candy Melts (paid link)
  • 2 cups Chocolate Powder mix. Your choice.
  • 2 cups small or medium White Marshmallows
  • Mini Easter Bunnies
the ingredients

Instructions

Place vanilla flavored candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melts in the microwave per the directions on the package.

Place 1 tbsp melted candy melt into one half of a bomb mold and, using the bottom of your tablespoon or measuring spoon, press the melted candy up the sides of the mold, keeping it thick but even. Repeat with 12 bomb mold halves.

Instructions

Place the vanilla-filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.

Remove molds from the freezer and gently tap the sides of the mold, pressing on one side of the vanilla to make them slide out of the mold.

Hot Cocoa Bombs

Fill 6 of the molds with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix and several marshmallows.

Hot Cocoa Bombs

Heat a plate or a flat-bottom bowl in the microwave until the surface of the plate is warm to the touch. Then press one of the empty bomb halves open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for about 10 seconds. This will gently melt the rim of the cup. Immediately press this warmed edge cup to the top of one of the filled cups. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb. Alternatively, you can pipe a little melted vanilla-flavored candy on the rim’s edge.
