We’re having a new thing happen at our house: the bus. We’ve never really done it before. Like, we did it for a trial period about 2 years ago and it was such a disaster that I vowed NEVER AGAIN! (And I might even have been doing it on a hill, under a tree, in the sunset–after the Civil War, not really, but it felt like it). But, the boy is 14 and a Freshman in High School and–it took me 2 1/2 hours to drop off and pickup the first 2 weeks–EVERY DAY. At that point, the bus felt like the only option. And he’s responsible for everything–including his breakfast. So, this is the Don’t-Miss-the-Bus Breakfast Smoothie for Teens. Kid-invented, mom-approved, and guaranteed to get your kid out the door with a full belly in less than 5 minutes flat.
The crazy thing about this smoothie is that my son actually came up with this on his own. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not like he didn’t have some help in the initial discovery-and-research process, but, this really is his creation. Kind of cool that he developed the Don’t-Miss-the-Bus Breakfast Smoothie for Teens (his name even, heh).
One of his favorite things about the Don’t-Miss-the-Bus Breakfast Smoothie for Teens (notice I’m saying that over and over because he said to make sure that people knew this was name THAT), is that it’s heavy on the banana-flavor and mixed with the peanut butter flavor, it’s like he’s getting one of his favorite snacks (PB&Banana) for breakfast. Which is nice–because then he’ll actually eat it. Which was a problem with prior smoothies I’d made for him. Because, you know, picky eater and all…
Ok. So, make my son excited and pin this recipe for Don’t-Miss-the-Bus Breakfast Smoothie for Teens. He is watching it now and wants to see how many people like it. And, he wants to share his love of Bananawave and Sneaky Chef No Nut Butter. Which, I love, too, simply because he loves them, but also because: yummy. So, there’s that. LOL!
