Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs Recipe

Thank you for sharing!

These lovely and delicious Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs are so hot as the perfect Holiday giveaway.

Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs

I love hot cocoa bombs. Being a craft nerdy mamma, I prefer making them myself. One thing is, I can create a themed hot cocoa bomb that wasn’t as pricey as buying the whole thing online. I can also choose what to put in my cocoa bomb, too.

Just like these  Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs. After I made them, I already knew what to do with them…. Well, of course, I will be drinking them… LOL! What I meant is they look great as part of my giveaways to my friends, who I know love drinking hot chocolates.

I was thinking of putting 3 Christmas Ornament Cocoa Bombs in a nice gift box along with some cookies. Hmm… I think Santa Macarons will compliment each other for a Holiday themed afternoon or evening.

Making the Christmas Ornament Hot Cocoa Bombs

To begin with, gather your ingredients listed below.

You will need bath bomb molds or cake pop molds. If using bath bomb molds, I found it best to hold them steady in a cupcake tin. I used: these metal bomb molds (paid link). Or you can use this Silicone Mold (paid link), as well.

You will also need a piping bag with a small hole tip.

Putting them all together is pretty simple. You will be amazed at how easy it is.

And also, make sure to Pin this recipe into your Cocoa Bombs Recipe board of your Pinterest. It will be easier if you want to check back again. Great to share, too.

Put some Mini Gold Star sprinkles (around 1 teaspoon) into 6 molds arranging them in 1 layer only.

Instructions

Place 1 tbsp melted candy melt into one half of a bomb mold and covering the Star Sprinkles. Using the bottom of your measuring spoon, press the candy melts up the sides of the mold, keeping it thick but even. Repeat with 12 bomb mold halves.

Place the candy melt filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.

To assemble the cocoa bombs:

Remove molds from the freezer and gently tap the sides of the mold, pressing on one side of the candy melt to make the candy melt slide out of the mold.

Fill 6 of the molds with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix and 6-8 mini marshmallows.

Heat a plate or a flat-bottom bowl in the microwave until the surface of the plate is warm to the touch.

Press one of the empty bomb halves open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for about 10 seconds. This will gently melt the rim of the cup.

Immediately press this warmed edge candy melt cup to the top of one of the filled cups. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb.

Using a piping bag or a fork, put a small amount of the remaining candy melts around where the halves met like a belt. Crush some Reece’s and place them over the ‘belt’ by rolling the side with the candy melt over the crushed/powdered Reece’s.
