I can remember when I was a kid and my parents would go MILES out of their way (literally and figuratively) to get my brother and I to enjoy activities on a family vacation. They did some things that were crazy-fun and were able to always keep us entertained. We even have a family joke about pancakes because of one trip they salvaged with joke. What they didn’t know is that I was taking notes so that I could do the same with my teens. And, friends, these are the tried, true and tested 3 Hacks for a Family Vacation Teens Will LOVE. Seriously–the whole family is going to have a good time. Heh.
3 Hacks for a Family Vacation Teens Will LOVE
- Go Camping. On the beach. Not just out in the woods where there’s nothing interesting going on. Go somewhere amazing, where nature is always changing the scenery and nothing is the same as it was the last time you looked out from the campsite. If they say they’re bored, just start a fire, hand them some marshmallows and watch boredom melt away…seriously, it works.
- Go Snorkeling. This is something your kids will NEVER forget. Even reluctant teens will totally open-up exclaim in wonder (with a smile even!) when they get in the water and see the fish up-close and personal. Heck, the time we went snorkeling, I was a teen and…well, I can’t remember my favorite day of watching TV–but I can sure remember those fish and seeing the world through those googles.
- Go Paddleboarding. Yeah, it’s trendy and cool, but that’s not the point. The point is that it’s confidence-building. My teen, who could not be less impressed with ANYTHING ever, was impressed by HIMSELF the first time he was able to stand on that board and get going.
