Looking for the perfect little light to have ambient light on 4th of July while the crazy fireworks pop off in the area. Okay then you totally have to check out these 4th of July Mini Light Pails. They are simple, cute, and cents on the dollar to make. They won’t break your pocket book! Everyone will be asking where did you find then those.
Then you can totally brag and say I made them. No one has to know how super duper easy they were. Shh… we won’t tell. We even put a video together just to show you how easy it is. You can find the adorable pails at any dollar store or on Amazon. If you want to do them up a little more just add some ribbon but we were going for country simple here.
The best thing about these is they can be saved year to year just make more rice. They can line a table or along a fence. Larger versions are also possible if you would like more light. Of course your going to need a light bigger than tea lights.
4th of July Mini Light Pails are great also for memorial day and labor day; not just the 4th of July. Just don’t store them where it is wet cause these little bad boys will rust.
How to make:
- 2 mini metal pails
- 1/3 cup white rice; per each color
- 2 tea lights
- blue food coloring
- red food coloring
Put 1/3 cup of rice to each bowl in three different bowls. Mix in red dye in one bowl and mix in blue dye in another bowl. Mix well.
Pour all three colors into one bowl and mix lightly. Using a cup scoop some rice into each pail. Place light into the top of the pail and push down a little.
Light up when ready!
