Don’t Be Controlled by Anger

It’s easiest to solve disputes among-st your family members if you stay calm. Just like a Jedi Knight, it’s important that you keep your emotions in check when you’re dealing with your kids. If you let yourself get angry, you may end up acting in a way that sets a bad example for everyone involved. On the other hand, if you stay calm, it will encourage them to work through their issues without resorting to a screaming match.

There Is No Try

“Do, or do not,” Master Yoda tells Luke on Dagobah during his jedi training, “there is no try.” Don’t “try” to succeed if you find yourself faced with a tough situation, just do it! Confidence can go a long way when it comes to parenting. Also, don’t let yourself give up on something until you’ve seen it through to the end.

Don’t Worry About the Odds

When Han Solo’s about to fly the Millennium Falcon through a dangerous asteroid field, he doesn’t want to know the exact probability that he’ll make it (which is about 3,720 to 1.) If you can’t keep your mind off of everything that could possibly go wrong, it will be hard to focus on succeeding. Even if it seems like nothing’s going your way, just be the best parent that you can be and things will work out for the best.
