Being a teen is so stressful, and waking up is probably the worst part because when you’re a teen, you tend to sleep-in after staying up late finishing that homework assignment (or playing video games and NOT finishing that homework)–which leaves very little time for all you need to do when you wake up to get ready and be prepared for the day. As you can tell–I’ve been there…and now my son is the one rushing out the door, Go Big Yogurt in hand. But, these are 5 Quick Morning Hacks for Teens to make the morning a bit less of a “rush to get ready”. And, hopefully, a little less stressful way to start the day.
I came up with these ideas for my son–because he’s awesome, but also because, in the mornings, I’m not so awesome. And, he takes a lot after me. So, I wrote him a little letter, about mornings, about being a teen, and about how proud I am that he is who he is. Or, you can just watch this quick video I made. Whatever. LOL!
5 Quick Morning Hacks for Teens
Most teens wake up last-minute so making a full breakfast and having the time to sit down and eat is out of the question. That doesn’t mean your teen has to miss out on one of the most important meals of the day, with Yoplait Go Big Yogurt your teen can grab and go, it’s fast, easy and takes absolutely no time to prepare which makes it perfect for a teen in a hurry. And, there’s PLENTY of yogurt and fresh fruit in them, because Go Big yogurt was made specifically with teens in mind.
This one will save them so much time, it blew my son’s mind! The night before they go to bed just prep EVERYTHING like clothes, backpack/gym bag, lunch, everything–and put it by the door for a grab-and-go. Even breakfast Go Big yogurt and a drink they can take on the bus. These things will give them extra time for other important things they usual don’t have time for like brushing their teeth.
This may sound a little strict for some parents but it’s crucial your teen gets a good night of sleep for their health and so they can stay focused in school. So before it’s time for them to go to bed, take and have them “check in” their electronics and I mean EVERYTHING cell phone, iPad, all of it. This way they have no distractions when trying to go to bed.
It’s so important that they’re out of the door ON TIME, especially if they ride the bus you can’t have them missing the bus. A great way to get them to be on time is by tricking them into thinking they are on time (or for some running late) is by setting their clock ahead 15 minutes (you could even go as far as setting ALL the clocks in the house 15 minutes ahead).
Skip the Snooze Button
Sure it’s a great thing but everyone knows it’s cursed! You hit it once and you’ll hit it again and again until you realize too late. So, just turn off the snooze for them. And then your teen will TOTALLY get up–because there’s no second chances.
Being a teen can be tough, but adding school and waking up early on top of all of it makes it even worse. You should know how hard it is, you were a teen once.
